Captain Glenn McPhee

Glenn E. McPhee is a Chevening Scholar, alumnus of Buckingham Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies (BUCSIS) and a Captain in the Royal Bahamas Defence Force with approximately thirty-three years of service. He enlisted in 1990 and has served in the Military Operation Platoon, Squadron Department, Training Department and the Administration Department. In 1994, he was a member of the second contingent of Defence Force personnel deployed to the Republic of Haiti for peacekeeping duties under the auspices of CARICOM. He is a 2002 graduate of The Royal Navy Young Officer’s Training at Britannia Royal Naval College Dartmouth in Devon, England. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration and a Master of Arts degree in Administration from La Universidad Del Valle de Mexico, Campus San Rafael in Mexico. He holds a Master of Arts degree (Distinction) in Security and Intelligence Studies from The University of Buckingham in the United Kingdom.

McPhee’s professional appointments included Deck Officer onboard HMBS Bahamas, Assistant Training Officer, Base First Lieutenant, Operations Officer onboard HMBS Bahamas , Commanding Officer  HMBS Lignum Vitae and Commanding Officer HMBS Rolly Gray , Captain Coral Harbour (Acting), and Captain SOUTHERN COMMAND. He currently holds the appointment as Captain CORAL HARBOUR. 

He has published The Marine Recruit’s Guide – a comprehensive guide for aspiring RBDF marines, ‘Barriers to collecting secret intelligence in The Bahamas’ in The International Journal of Intelligence, Security and Public Affairs, ‘The Marine Recruit’s Guide, second edition.’ and ‘Guardian of an Archipelago’ an analysis of The Bahamas’ link to the secret intelligence tradecraft and ‘The Marine Recruit’s Guide: third edition’. He is a recipient of the Britannia Medal, the US Army Achievement Medal, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Overseas Campaign Medal, The Royal Bahamas Defence Force Good Conduct and Long Service Medal, The Royal Bahamas Defence Force Meritorious Service Medal, The Royal Bahamas Defence Force Distinguished Service Medal, The Bahamas National Security Council Commendation Ribbon. Additionally, he is a recipient of the prestigious Admiralty Binoculars for outstanding performance during his matriculation at Britannia Royal Naval College Dartmouth.

During the period 1999-2001, McPhee was seconded to the Department of Civil Aviation where he  undertook Air Traffic Control training at the Federal Aviation Administration Academy in Oklahoma, USA. During the period 2012-2017, he was seconded to the Ministry of National Security where he developed a keen interest in security and intelligence matters. 

Captain McPhee is married to Dr. Helean A. McPhee a Professor at The University of The Bahamas. In 2010, they became avid followers of BFMI which led to them enrolling in Membership classes. Subsequently, they served as Directors of the Change Agents Ministry from 2017- 2022.
